Chattanooga, TN - William Henry "Hank" Sherard, age 83, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025. He was born
in Decatur, Alabama on April 26, 1942, to the late Hoyt and Lucille Sherard.
Hank was educated at Auburn university and received his baccalaureate degree in engineering Management.
A longtime resident of Dalton, Georgia he spent most of his career with the State of Georgia in the Child Support
Enforcement Division, but prior to he worked for Both Lockheed and with the Internal Revenue Service.
Hank also had many personal joys—but none greater than cheering on his Auburn Tigers. He also enjoyed ruby and
sapphire mining.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Hoyt Sherard, Jr.
Left behind to cherish Hank's memory are his wife of 45 years, Virginia, his children, Veronica Sherard and Scott Sherard,
his grandchildren, Anthony Zyren, Summer, Autumn, and Wynter Sherard, and one great-grandchild, Teagan Thrash,
nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Sunday July 27, 2025,
from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
