William "Bill" R. Moyd, age 82, of Sebastian, Florida, peacefully departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2025, at his home. Bill was born in Americus, Georgia, on December 31, 1942. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and carried the values of service and dedication throughout his life.
Bill had many interests that brought him joy, including gardening, fishing, and reading. He was a skilled billiards player and enjoyed water skiing. A man of few words, Bill was deeply fond of the simple pleasures in life, such as his mother's famous chocolate cake and the clock that chimed every hour and half hour, a cherished reminder of home. He had a quiet strength and a love for his family, including his loyal dog, Shadow.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Clanton Moyd, and his father, William R. Moyd. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kay Langley Moyd; his siblings, Marilyn Moyd Jacobs, and Jim Moyd; his children, Paige Moyd Goode, and Mandi Moyd Bishop; and his cherished grandchildren, Mac Goode, Madison Goode, Camille Bishop, and Eddie Bishop, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Hospice for their compassionate care during this time.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian, FL 32958. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 10:00am with a Memorial Service at 11:00am. There will be a reception immediately following at the Sebastian Saltwater Marina Restaurant located at 1732 Indian River Drive, Sebastian FL, 32958 (sebastiansaltwater.com).
