Michael was born October 6, 1946, in Manchester, GA, to William Dan Hurst and Ruby Jewell Favors Hurst. Michael loved nature and the great outdoors, particularly the mountains where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Michael owned Wallbuilders, a concrete construction company, and retired in 2012. He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. Michael and Jackie have been members of Fellowship Bible Church in Dalton for almost forty years. They have enjoyed time together with "Pizza Group" for most of those years.
Michael was predeceased by his father, William Dan Hurst in 1977. He is survived by his mother, Jewell Hurst, who is 101; his wife of 45 years, Jacqueline Videtto Hurst; three children, William Branen Hurst and wife, Katherine, of Signal Mountain, TN, John Spencer Hurst of Chattanooga, and Lauren Hurst O'Ferrall and husband, Patrick, of Dalton; nine grandchildren, Payne, Jack and Wren Hurst, of Signal Mountain, Cannon Hurst of Albany, Katelyn, Abby, Brinley, Asher and Preston O'Ferrall of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Joe Johnson of Dalton.
