Mr.Walter Dennis Chapman age 89 of Chatsworth, GA departed this life on Wednesday morning February 5, 2025. He was born March 16, 1935 in the son of the late Merle and Delanie Chapman.

He was also preceded in death by his wife Sarah Lee Ponder Chapman; his children Susie Chapman, Delaine Hullender, Pat Brooks, Walter Chapman, and Buster Chapman.

He is survived by his loving wife Martha Delores Chapman; daughter and son in law Kay and Ronnie Stanley; brother Claude Chapman; son n law Larry Brooks; step daughters Kerri Rollins and Sherry Clark; half sisters Kay Ratcliff and Fayes Miles; half brothers Grady Lewis, Travis Chapman, Bobby Chapman, and Marvin Chapman; Bowers Family; grandkids Serena York, Bart and Vanessa Crawford, Chris Stanley and Billy Koger, Janet Cooper, Melissa and Ray Woodward, Shirl Brooks, Joy and Derek McCullough, William and Cherish Chapman; 19 great grandkids; 14 great grandkids; and lots of nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed Nascar, working on cars, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He loved his cats Bo and Bobby. He loved working in his garden and yard. He was everyone's HERO.

A service to honor the life of Walter Dennis Chapman will be held Saturday February 8, 2025 at 11 am in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Anna McConathy officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday February 7, 2025 from 5pm to 9pm. Interment will be at New Hope Kilgore Cemetery.
