MRS. SOPHIE TAYLOR BARTON - Age 94, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022. A lifelong resident of Dalton, she was a faithful member of Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, was employed by the Wilson Rogers Family for over fifty-four years, and a graduate of Emery Street School Class of 1946. She was born on December 9, 1928 to the late Clifford Taylor, Sr. and Elguin Suttles Taylor. She was preceded by her sisters, Daisy Johnson, Darlene Kemp, Eleanor Hagans, brothers, Clifford Taylor, Jr., Joe Taylor, James Taylor and husband, Roy Barton.

Survivors are her two loving and devoted daughters, Gayle Taylor and Vanessa (LeRoy Terry) Perry, of Dalton; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; three special nephews, Kenneth Taylor, Ron Sprowl, Rodney Hagans; special nieces, Cheryl McFadden, and Cynthia Thornton; other nieces, nephews; cousins; and Bill Rogers Family.

Homegoing service for Mrs. Sophie Taylor Barton will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 2:00 P. M. at Mt. Ridge Baptist Church, 1401 M. L. King, Jr. Blvd., Dalton, Georgia with Pastor Dr. Jerry Jones, Eulogist. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 P. M. until 7:30 P. M. Interment, West Hill Cemetery, Dalton, Georgia. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., 2011 Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd., Dalton, GA.
