Dalton, Georgia - Silas Morgan Jr., age 97, of Dalton, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sara Morgan.

Silas served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was an educator in Murray County and Whitfield County for 32 years. He began his teaching career at Murray County High School and later retired as principal from Pleasant Grove Elementary School.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Angie Morgan, Danny and Marilyn Morgan, all of Dalton; sister, Lillian Roberts of Gilbertown, AL; grandchildren, Ashley (Justin) Brown of Dalton, Kathryn (Evan) Skiles of Chattanooga, TN, Brett (Krystyna) Morgan of Atlanta, and Lauren (Will) Harvey of Clarksville, TN; great-grandchildren, Callan Brown, Emery Harvey, and Bennett Harvey.

The funeral service will be held at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Chester Clark officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the service hour. Burial will be held in Grove Level Cemetery.
