Cohutta, GA - Ralph Forester Greene, age 87, of Cohutta, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph William Greene and Francis Forrester Greene of Tallapoosa, GA. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Delesa Gail Greene; sons and daughter-in-law, Greg and Shasha Greene of China, and Mark Greene of Rocky Face; daughters, Kelly Greene of Dalton, Casey Greene, and Shannon Greene Neuhoff, both of Woodstock, GA; step-daughters and son-in-law, Jamie and John Upton of Dalton, and Chesa Bailey of Ringgold; brothers and sister-in-law, Dr. Harry and Carol Greene, and David Greene, all of Tallapoosa, GA; countless grandchildren, neices and nephews.

Ralph was the salutatorian of Tallapoosa High School's class of 1956. He attended Georgia Tech where he played freshman football under the legendary Bobby Dodd. Though a football injury ended his playing days, he enjoyed his remaining years at Tech as a loyal member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity with his lifelong friend, Gary Bailey. He remained one of Tech's most loyal fans, cheering them on every fall from Bobby Dodd stadium. Ralph was well respected in the construction industry, owning and operating Greene Building systems for close to 50 years. He built more than 180 buildings in and around north Georgia and the southeast. Over the years, he served his community as the president of the Dalton Jaycees and as a supporter of Greater Dalton's Habitat for Humanity. He was in the inaugural class of Leadership Dalton and enjoyed giving back. Ralph's favorite days were spent with family, especially his grandchildren. He adored each and every grandchild and was the biggest fan at their sporting events. He also enjoyed spending time at his farm in Tallapoosa where he loved playing on his bulldozer and sharing with his grandchildren his love of the land. Ralph was well known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He was a good friend to many and a good person to all. Arrangements are by Julian Peeples Funeral Home of Dalton.
