MRS. PHYLLIS YVONNE PINSON BROOME - Age 77, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Friday, June 25, 2021. She was born April 1, 1944. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served on the Deaconess Board, Matrons, and Culinary Arts Committee. Phyllis was a graduate of Emery Street School Class of 1962. She retired from Alltel where she worked for many years as a Data Base Operator. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents, Pauline Moore Pinson and Joseph Pinson, son, Sheldon Broome, brothers, Arthur Joe Penson, Edward George Penson, William Sapp Penson, and Thomas Franklin Pinson, Sr., sisters, Frances Pinson and Wilma Shepherd.


She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Arthur Lee Broome; sons, Kenneth (Lucretia) Broome, Marty (April) Broome; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren; sister, Linda Rebecca (Lamar) Bonds; sisters-in-law, Mary Broome, Carolyn Broome, Mildred Penson, and Felicia Penson; other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.


Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 1:00 P. M. at New Hope Baptist Church, 900 Roan St., Dalton, Georgia 30721, with Pastor Kenneth F. Scaife, Eulogist and Minister Ben Phillips, Presider. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Tuesday after 11:00 A. M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 P. M. - 7:00 P. M. Interment, West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
