Chatsworth, GA - Mrs. Nellie M. Winkler Bailey, age 90, of Chatsworth, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at her residence.

Nellie was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church for 78 years.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy Bailey and Joel Bailey; her parents, Joe and Essie Winkler; and her siblings, Roberta Walker, Minnie Jo Waters, Jannette Harrison, Frank Winkler, Trudy Morris, and Judy Beavers.

Survivors include her husband, James Bailey of Chatsworth; her son, Michael Bailey of Dalton, GA; her daughters and son-in-law, Debra Jones of Dalton, GA and Cindy and Chip Howalt of Dalton, GA; her sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Ray Sitton of Chatsworth; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; extended family also survives.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Nellie M. Winkler Bailey will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
