MOTHER MARY KATHERINE BUFORD - Age 85, - of Dalton, GA passed away Monday, February 8, 2021. She was born March 5, 1935. She was a graduate of Emery Street School and was a licensed LPN. She retired as a Nurse Supervisor at Central State Hospital. She was a Matron and served on the Mothers Board at New Hope Baptist Church. She was a co-founder of Living Word of God Church in Milledgeville, GA. She was a member of the Womans Community Club and loved traveling. She was proudly presented the "Key to the City of Dalton" by Mayor David Pennington.
She was preceded by her father, Warren Jones, mother, Georgia Mae Bates, brothers, Melvin Jones and Joseph Jones, and sister, Janice Mays.
She is survived by her loving children, son, Malcolm (Valeria) Fain of Dalton, GA; daughters, Cynthia Johnson of Milledgeville, GA, Sheila Dennard, and Janice Fain both of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Scottie Fain, Tamekia (Deron) Lovette, Tristan (Ashley) Fain, Gerrick (Sandy) Johnson, Gericka (Johnny) Moore, Roderick Freeman, John "Trey" Dennard III, Zachriell Beckham, and Jashia Adams; 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Vollie (LaChrisia) Macon of Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A family only Funeral Service will be held, Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Weaver, Eulogist. A walkthrough visitation will take place Thursday 11:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment; West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
