Dalton, Georgia - Margie Barton, 99, of Dalton passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late William Louis Jones and Mary Sweeney Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy F. Barton and siblings, Edward Jones (JoAnne), Hazel Stone, and Charlotte Hudson.
Margie loved her church family and was a longtime faithful member of Central Church of Christ. She loved and continuously supported her family, even volunteering as a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She was also an avid seamstress.
Margie is survived by her son, Steve Barton (Judy); daughter, Lynn Carter (Roger); grandchildren, Tara Ponders (Bart), Jared Barton (Melissa), Drew Barton (Kayla), and Brooke Burton; great-grandchildren, Trevor Ponders, Kaylee Ponders, Julie Barton, Nolan Barton, Iris Burton, Brooks Barton, and Bennett Barton; nieces, Sheila Swink, Loraine Jones, Leslie Hudson, and Andrea Hughes.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Central Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Church of Christ.
