Dalton, Georgia - Mrs. Mamie G. Stinson, age 91, of Dalton, Georgia went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 10, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed on peacefully. Mamie was born on August 1, 1934. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Zeak E. Stinson. Her parents were George and Lucredia (Warren) Swinney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Maudell Porter, and brothers Willard, Haden, and Jerry Swinney.

She is survived by daughters Doris (Roger) McCurdy and Brenda (Wayne) Chastain. Granddaughters Wendi (Mark) Miller and Emily Chastain; Grandson Jason (Julie) McCurdy. Great-granddaughters Hannah Miller, Madi Bourff, and Tatum Bourff. Great grandson Derick (Victoria) Miller. Mamie has two living sisters Bea Wilkins, Shelby Groves and sister-in-law Brenda Swinney. Additionally, many other family members survive.

Mamie spent many happy years driving a Whitfield County School Bus. She also enjoyed working in her many flowers. She shared lots of flowers with family and friends. She could write books on flower care and arranging. But her greatest love was for her Savior. She did love spending time with her children and grands. Her extended family, friends and church family also played a big part in her life.

She was a long-time member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. If the church doors were open, that is where you would find Mamie. To know her was to love her. Her legacy lives on in the home she created the people she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely.

Special thanks to her caregivers who took such great care of her and treated her like family. She also received excellent care at Pruitt Healthcare in Fort Oglethorpe.

Services for Mamie Stinsn will be Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Love Funeral Home. Friends and family will be welcomed from 1 p.m. until the service time of 3 p.m. Neil Hasty, Pastor of Poplar Springs Baptist Church will conduct the service in the Chapel.
