Dalton, GA - Mr. Otis "Mac" McIntosh, Jr., aged 88, of Dalton, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Dalton Square.
Born to the late Otis Olin McIntosh, Sr. and Martha Deriso McIntosh, Mac was preceded in death by his brother, John Edward McIntosh, who held a special place in his heart.
Mac was a well-respected and prominent figure within the Dalton business community. Alongside his brother Jim, he founded and operated McIntosh Shoes for many years, becoming a staple in the area. He later spent 31 years at Furniture of Dalton, where he continued to foster strong customer relationships. Through his unwavering dedication to his craft, Mac built a reputation marked by integrity, a commitment to quality, and a heartfelt concern for both his customers and the wider community.
He was fortunate to share a remarkable 66-year marriage with his beloved wife, Marion Griffin McIntosh.
Mac is survived by his devoted wife, Marion Griffin McIntosh; his daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Jay Crocker of Houston, Texas; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Amy McIntosh of Carrollton, Alabama; and his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Helen McIntosh of Dalton. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jake (Carley) McIntosh, Mallory McIntosh, Ashley (Ryan) Hiltabrand, and Carley (Eduardo) Parra. In addition, Mac took great pride in being a great-grandfather to Shelby and Taylor Hiltabrand, Griffin and Harper Parra, Mia and Keller McIntosh, and he eagerly awaited the arrival of yet another great-grandchild, Claire Parra.
Further extending his family ties, Mac is survived by his nieces and nephews: Bryan and Lynn McIntosh, Blythe and Art Daniel, Sarah McIntosh, Ann McIntosh, Maris Daniel, Calyn Daniel, and William Daniel.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them at Peeples Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am and the service beginning at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Matt Evans officiating.
