MOTHER LILLIE MAE SIMS - Age 99, of Dalton, GA passed Friday, August 11, 2023. She was born June 10, 1924 to her late parents, John Henry Sims, Sr. and Gertrude Henry Sims. She attended Emery Street School, Dalton, GA and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Dalton, GA. She worked as a Housekeeper and later worked for Lady Madison as a Packer. She would eventually retire from Solomon White. She is preceded in death by her parents; father, John Henry Sims, Sr. and mother, Gertrude Herny Sims; sons, James Henry Sims, John Henry Sims, David Sims, Michael Starks, Terry Starks, and Timothy Sims; sisters, Daisy Sims, Kate Pender, Sadie Thompson, and Johnnie Louise Sims; brother, John Henry Sims, Jr.

She is survived by her loving children, Fredrick Sims, Forrest Starks, Jr., Forrestine Cooper, Robert "Sammy" (Jackie) Starks, Louis (Debra) Macon, and Willena (Johnny) Taylor; nineteen grandchildren; fifty-one great grandchildren; twenty-five great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lisa Sims; special friends, Iva Lee Macon, Jennie Mitchell, Mary Lawrence, Linda Cofield, Melvia Heard, Minister Ben (Barbara) Phillips, Jonnie Jones and Grace Carson; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 P. M. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Catchings, Eulogist and Bishop Claud Jones, Presider. The family will receive extended family and friends on Friday from 6:00 P. M. to 7:30 P. M. at the funeral home. Interment, West Hill Cemetery.
