Dalton, Georgia - Henry Lamar Jordan, age 87, of Dalton, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol Jordan; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guss Jordan, Sr.; brother, Guss Jr.; sisters and special brother-in-law, Melba Baker, Evelyn and Wallace Douglas.

Lamar, a native of the Dawnville Community, was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the North Whitfield High School Class of 1956 and a former employee of Shaw Industries and Dalton Carpet Finishing.

Lamar was a "people" person- he loved his co-workers, relatives, friends, and all fellow square dancers. He never met a stranger and his ready smile was for one and all.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Cindy and Greg Deverell; special nephew, Michael Douglas; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 5:00 PM with Rev. Brad Bailey and Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM until the service hour.
