Dalton, GA - Kenneth Hubert Eckstein, age 78, of Dalton, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at home.

Kenneth was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was a retired Captain from the Whitfield County Fire Department where he served for 21 years. Kenneth was a member of the Cohutta Masonic Lodge #64 for almost 50 years and was also a Yaarab Shrine. He was a member of the American Legion Post #112 and was a proud veteran of the United States Marines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Willie Eckstein; and sisters, Virginia Wooten and Melverda Cross.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Aleta Eckstein; daughter and son-in-law, DeeAnn and David Pullen of Cleveland, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Christi Eckstein of Cleveland, TN; sister, Linda Melton of Cleveland, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Sammie Eckstein of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Jake (Rachel) Pullen, Jack Pullen (Danielle), and Kendall Eckstein (Brianna); great-granddaughter, Olivia Pullen; many loved nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Noel Caldwell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cleveland, TN.

The Whitfield County fire department will be serving as pallbearers.
