Loganville, Georgia - Mr. John Milton Mulcahy Jr., age 57, of Loganville, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

John was born on Sunday, December 8, 1968, in Seoul, South Korea.

As the son of the late Mrs. Mal Soon Mulcahy and the late Mr. John Mulcahy Sr., a physician in the United States Army, John grew up living throughout several different cities as their family followed his father's military assignments. John spent time in Radcliffe, Kentucky, Charleston, South Carolina, Muncie, Indiana, Cincinnati, Ohio, Smyrna, Georgia, and, most recently, had planted roots with his family in Loganville, Georgia.

John lived a full and vibrant life, with interests and passions that extended to both the arts as well as the sciences. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Louisville, he went on to obtain his Masters Degree in Research Administration from the University of Central Florida. His studies led him to a long and successful career in academia. He had successful tenures working for the University of Louisville, the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston Southern University, Ball State University, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and, most recently, the Morehouse College School of Medicine.

In addition to his ongoing studies and academic work, John loved music. He enjoyed volunteering his time helping local high school band programs, working primarily with the drumlines, as he was a phenomenal drummer. Most recently, he served as an active part of helping with the Loganville High School Marching Band. Outside of school band, John was an avid fan of Drum Corps International. He also loved the University of Louisville athletics, and proudly supported his Cardinals.

John touched the lives of countless students throughout his career, whether it was through music or academics. He leaves behind a legacy of inspiration, encouragement, and faith.

Most central to John's life was his faith and his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was an active member of his church, Corinth Christian Church, in Loganville, Georgia.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John Mulcahy, Sr., and Mrs. Mal Soon Mulcahy.

John is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Krista Johns Mulcahy, whom he married on Saturday, May 19, 2007. He is also survived by his son, Mr. John Milton Mulcahy, III, whom he loved and adored more than words can express.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. John Milton Mulcahy Jr. will be conducted on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the Sanctuary of Center Point Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia, with the Rev. George Ross and the Rev. Matt Futch officiating. John will be laid to rest in the church cemetery following the service.

His family will receive friends for visitation in the Sanctuary prior to the service from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
