Chatsworth, GA - Mr. Jimmy Dale Adams, age 71, of Chatsworth, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at his home.

Dale was a lifetime resident of Murray County and had a high impact on the community. A devoted Christian, he was a member of the Homeland Baptist Church. His love of music inspired him to play the bass guitar for the Messengers, Covenants, Homeland Singers, and Upstream Country groups. He was with the Murray County Sheriff's Office for 11 years and served as Probate Judge of Murray County for 24 years retiring in 2016. Dale enjoyed going on cruises, camping, boating, fishing, mountain visits with his loving wife Peggy of 47 years as well as family and friends. He loved many things such as Christmas (organizing a toys and food drive for the community), flowers, and clearance racks but, above all he loved God. If you knew Dale you can still hear him say "always be humble and kind".

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Adams; his mother, Elizabeth Brooks Adams; and his brother, Wayne Adams.

Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Ann Defore Adams of Chatsworth; his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Carol Myers of Chatsworth; his daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Clay Morrison of Dalton, GA; his sister-in-law, Shirlene Adams of Chatsworth; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Delano Boatwright of Ellijay, GA; his grandchildren, Jake Carnes, Allison Myers, and Emily (Cobey) Patterson; his great-grandchildren, Harley Carnes and Piper Carnes; numerous nieces, nephews, and 1 aunt also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jimmy Dale Adams will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Homeland Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Poteet officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
