Jeanette Gregory Ensley, age 87, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025.

Born on June 22, 1937, in Chatsworth, Georgia, Jeanette was the beloved daughter of Pauline Gregory. She grew up with a clever mind and a sharp sense of humor, which she carried proudly throughout her life.

Jeanette was a loving wife, a devoted grandmother, and a woman of remarkable intelligence. She was naturally gifted and never shied away from hard work and pouring her talents into everything she did. Jeanette was a talented writer and her love of basketball and sports in general led her to her job as the first woman sports editor in GA at the Hartwell Sun. She was hilariously funny, an avid reader, and life-long learner. Whether she was diving into a new book, traveling the world, or creating something extraordinary in the kitchen, Jeanette lived life to the fullest.

She adored her husband, Bill, and loved her family beyond measure. A proud basketball fan, she was a courtside staple at North Georgia College games, cheering on the Saints to victory. Jeanette brought warmth and laughter everywhere she went, and her powerful presence will be deeply missed by those who knew her best.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ensley; her son, Chip Ensley; her granddaughter, Lauren Turner, her mother, Pauline Gregory; her sister, Barbara Morgan, her brother, Gene Gregory, her sister Jackie Roth and Tom Jarrard, her great friend and boss.

She is survived by her daughters, Cary Ensley Moore of Murrayville, Georgia, Leanne Ensley Condon and her son-in-law Tony Condon of Arlington, Washington; her cherished grandchildren, Erika Moore, Wykeman Moore, and Cara Condon; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Langley and Gabriel Gonzales.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanette's memory to UNG Bill Ensley Scholarship Fund.

Jeanette Gregory Ensley leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. She will be remembered for the light she brought into every room and the countless lives she touched along the way.
