MR. FLOYD LAMAR AUSTIN, JR. - Age 66, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023. He was born February 12, 1957 to his parents, Melvia Willis Austin Heard and the late Floyd Lamar Austin, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Karen Willis Richardson and Christine Austin. He was a high school graduate of Glenn Hills High School in Augusta, GA. Afterwards, he joined the United States Air Force. He was employed for Mohawk Industries as a Utility Worker for many years. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed listening to music, watching westerns and football.

He is survived by his loving children, Shawanna (Thomas) Ware, Aaron (Yaneli) Austin, and Stephanie Austin; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Makyla, Arianna, Abraham, Ahmayia, Jakyha, Shanyia, Johnta, and Fancy; one great grandchild, Anari; mother, Melvia Heard; two sisters, Kathy Boston and April Madden; brothers, Greg Austin, Daniel Austin, and Gordon Austin; girlfriend, Angela Nicholson; honorary son, Mathew "Nick" Owens; workplace sister, Martha Asher; workplace brother, Darrel Pasely; best friends, Jesus, Anthony "Reese" Madden, and Troy Stroud; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 11:30 A. M. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D. F. Wilson, Eulogist and Dr. Jerry D. Jones, Officiant. His remains will lie in state on Tuesday after 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Interment, Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Dalton, GA.
