Dalton, Georgia - Mrs. Estelle (Essie) Saylors Smith of Dalton, Ga., formerly of Warner Robins, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 16, 2025.
She was born on November 5th,1936 in Murray County, GA, one of three daughters of the late Dock Saylors and Inez Saylors.
She was preceded in death by son Philip B. Smith of Warner Robins GA, sisters Minnie Ruth Saylors Shuler, Billie Jean Williams (Charlie), and Mildred Saylors Crow (Ralph).
She is survived by her husband, Robert H. (Bob) Smith of Dalton and Warner Robins, GA; son, Russell H. (Rusty) Smith and daughter-in-law, Mickie deGeneres Smith of Alexandria, VA; and granddaughters Marin Smith of Bethesda, MD and Maggie Smith Murphy (Tom) of Celebration, FL and great granddaughters Emma and Clara Murphy of Celebration, FL. Nieces, nephews, and others family also survive.
Essie was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Saturday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 until 4. Essie will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery.
