Mr. Clarence Grady "C.G." Lusk, 85, of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.
He was born on April 18, 1928, in Canton to the late Clarence Grady Lusk Sr. and Pauline Woodall Lusk.
Mr. Lusk was known and loved by many and his love for his family and friends took precedence during his life. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an entrepreneur in the carpet industry throughout his life in Gordon County.
Mr. Lusk is survived by his wife of 57 years, Johnnie Ruth Greeson Lusk; his children and their spouses, Mary Katheryne Chastain and Mike Chastain, Judy Lusk Estren, and Alan Fitzgerald Lusk and Cindy Lusk.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric Floyd, Monica Floyd, Victoria Estren, Wendy Land Weiss, Johnny Land, Mark Cavendar, Melissa Cavendar, Heather Chastain and Michael D. Chastain; and his great-grandchildren, Grady DeFore, Knox Floyd, Katie Beth Lusk, Zoey Scarrette, Jamie Scarrette, Madeyn Land, Constance Hall, Noah Dempsey, Sierra Stafford and Matthew Cavendar.
Mr. Lusk is also survived by his brother, Paul Lusk and wife Mina Lusk; his brother, Harry Lusk; his sister, Patricia DeFoor; his sister, Juanita McBrayer; his sister, Margaret Reece and husband Leonard Reece; his brother-in-law, Tom Greeson and wife Helen Greeson; nephews, Tony McBrayer, Joey Lusk, Stephen Samples, Todd Lusk, Phillip Lusk, Derek Reece, Zak Lusk, Randy Dixon and Thomas Greeson; and nieces, Connie Lusk, Stephanie Samples, Marilyn Lusk Roland, Sandy Samples Goble, Tera Lusk, Sharon Black, Sheila Henderson, Sandra Greeson and Shirley Greeson Broyles.
Mr. Lusk is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Grady Lusk Sr. and Pauline Woodall Lusk; his brother, Donald Lusk; sister-in-law, Rosetta Lusk; his brothers-in-law, Lawrence McBrayer and Otto Defoor; his sister-in-law, Betty Dorsey; and his nephews, Jerry Lusk and Terry McBrayer.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Meadowdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Powell officiating with the committal service to follow at Fain Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Eric Floyd, Mike Chastain, Mark Cavendar, Stephen Samples, Derek Reece and Thomas Greeson. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers: Tony McBrayer, Joey Lusk, Todd Lusk, Zack Lusk, Randy Dixon, Larry Woodall, Tom Greeson and J.B. Rickett.
The family of C.G. Lusk will receive family and friends at Thomas Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Lusk will be taken to the church on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. to lie at the church from 10 to 11 a.m.
