MR. CHARLIE H. ELLISON, JR. - Age 89, of Dalton, GA passed away January 3, 2021. He was born January 24, 1931 to his late parents Bishop C. H. Ellison, Sr. and Inest Cameron Ellison. After the family moved to from Hogansville, GA to Dalton, GA, Charlie served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Greater St. James Overcoming Church of God (now New Harvest Church of Ministries). He was a member of Dalton Lodge #238 Chapter #230, Order of the Eastern Star, Rome Consistory #264, American Legion Post #112, Shriners #123 of Chattanooga, and Knight's Temple #9. He worked as a self-employed plumber and electrician.
Survivors are his daughter, Gwendolyn Mathews; two grandchildren, Steven Chaney and DeNorris (Jessica) Johnson; three great grandchildren, Aiden Johnson, Kaylee Hooper, and Brady Hooper; special friend, Laura Osrio, special lady friend; Betty Reese, nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives, and friends.
Service will be held Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Willis Funeral Home with Bishop N. P. Starling and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state Saturday after 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour. Interment: West Hill Cemetery with Military Honors. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
