BETTY JEAN WOOD JOHNSON - Age 93, of Dalton, Georgia, and formerly of Hilliard, Florida, passed away on June 19, 2023, at Ridgewood Manor Health and Rehabilitation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Johnson; parents Clyde and Jewel Wood; and brother and sister-in-law Harry and Esther Wood.

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Hilliard, Florida, for more than 60 years. She unconditionally loved her family as a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Betty is survived by her children: Carole Ray (James Langston) of Columbus, GA; Nancy McIntosh (Grady) of Hilliard, FL; Russell (Rusty) Johnson (Nancy) of Hilliard, FL; Betty Sue Laird (Steve) of Dalton, GA; and Calvin Johnson (Marla) of Hilliard, FL; grandchildren: Cory Collins, Clint Collins (Jane), Marty Cochrane (Neal), Ronald McIntosh (Brittany), Molly Whittenburg (Gabe), Daniel Laird (Tiffany), Elizabeth Bowman (Kenny), Jake Johnson (Leah), and Kyle Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

A service for Betty will be held at Shepard Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, Georgia, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 am with Dr. Benjamin Loyd, River Road Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Hilliard, FL. Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Betty Wood Johnson.
