MS. BESSIE MAE DOZIER LAMAR - Age, 81 of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021. She was born December 4, 1939 to the late George and Margie Fain Dozier. She attended A.C. Carter High School and was a faithful member of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Eva Law, George "Buck" Dozier, Jr., Louise Sandford, Cora Selma, Addie Garrett, and Faye Lawrence.


She is survived by her loving family, children, Thurman E. Lamar, Deborah (Willard) Atkisson, Jackqueline (Otis Jr.) Williams; grandchildren, DeShayven (LaTasha) Atkisson, Tiara (Andre) Malone, Tiniquea Williams and Otis J. Williams; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Thurman "Catfish" Dozier and Anthony Jerome (Irene) Dozier; sisters, Sarah (Jimmy) Reynolds, Mary Lawrence, Dorothy Wedgeworth, and Barbara Ann Lawrence; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.


Following the guidelines of COVID-19, the family is enforcing that all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.


Homegoing Service will be Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 1:00 P. M. at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 265 Oak Hill Road, Summerville, GA 30747 for Family Members only with Pastor George Beavers as Eulogist. She will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday, February 5, 2021 after 12:00 P. M. and there will be a Walk Through visitation at the church on Saturday from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour. Interment, Oak Hill Church Cemetery. The Service will be livestreamed on the Willis Funeral Home Facebook page. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
