Dalton, Georgia - Annie Arnold Blalock passed away on December 3, 2025, at the home of David Blalock, her son. Annie was born in Fairmount, GA to Claude Erwin Arnold and Emma Mae Ross Arnold on August 16, 1932.
Annie worked at Southeast High School as a lunchroom manager. All the students called her "Granny Annie". Annie was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Blalock; son, Danny Bryant; daughter, Micki Blalock Lemmings; sisters, Elise Arnold Godfrey, Rosalee Arnold and Ruby Nally; brothers, Frank Arnold, J.W. Arnold and Wesley Arnold; sons-in-law, Henry Stansell, Earnest Harold Shepherd, Robert Lemmings and Thomas McCurley; brothers-in-law, Harry Bramlett and Joe Godfrey.
Annie is survived by her son, James David Blalock; daughters, Barbara McCurley, Brenda Shepherd Brown (Jim), and Susan Blalock Stansell; sister, Mary Ann Bramlett; brother, Bobby Arnold; grandchildren, Cara Shepherd Keith (Chris), Michael Harold Shepherd (Wanda), Will Stansell (Annie), Lisa McCurley Hancock (David), Andrea McCurley Smoakes (Dewayne) and Michael Bates; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. George Ross and Rev. Matt Futch officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 until 1. Annie will be laid to rest in West Hill Cemetery.
