Dalton, GA - Mr. Leslie Allen Cole, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2025, after being on home care for several years.

Born in Talladega, Alabama on May 15, 1945. Allen was the son of Dr. Leslie Gay Cole and Gladys Whitley Cole.

Allen was a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Textile Engineering. Allen and his family moved to Dalton in 1979. He was associated with several carpet industries. He enjoyed his years at Astroturf which afforded him the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world.

Family members include his loving wife, Roberta (Bobbye) Cole; daughter and son-in-law, Robin Cole Stockard and Mark Stockard; beloved grandchildren, Cole, Connor, and Campbell Stockard; special friend and honored daughter, Sandee Hooper and her family; two sisters, Mary Kathryn Butler of Gainesville, GA, and Linda Cole Mitchell of Gloucester Point, VA; nephew, Trent Butler and family, and Rev Butler and family of Sugar Hill, GA; nieces, Whitley (Wendy) Mitchell of Gloucester Point, VA, and Vandy Hare Wade of Birmingham, AL; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Hare of Dalton, GA.

A special thanks to the caretakers of Barrett's Home Care Service - Chris and Tina Barrett. Much appreciation for the loving and compassionate care given to Allen by Bernard Gee, Tesa Atkinson, Cynthia Jones, Cali Bowman, and Jackie Washington. Also, the expert care and love from Amedisys Hospice Care.

A funeral service will be held at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM with John Andrew Hooper and Sherry Dickson officiating and Johnny Oxford, Rick Hooper, Will Hooper, John Stockard, Tom Crawford, Trent Butler, and Revis Butler serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM.

Burial will be held at United Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. Allen cherished the deep friendships he made there and especially the close fellowship of his Joy Sunday School Class.
