Mr. Winston Duane Palmer, 84, of Ringgold, departed this life Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at his residence.
Winston was born Jan. 23, 1933, Dalton, a son of the late Floyd and Della Starcher Palmer. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Palmer, and brothers, Lamar Palmer, Edwin Palmer, Jack Palmer and Gerald Palmer. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Palmer of the residence; his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Homer Waxler of Florence, S.C.; stepchildren, Mike Brewer of Ringgold, Connie and Ronnie Harris of Rocky Face and Teresa and Eddie Tish of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Colleen Palmer of Dunkirk, Md., Perry and Gwennell Palmer of Crandall, Roger and Pat Palmer of Ringgold, Michael and Sue Palmer and Sam and Phyllis Palmer of Chatsworth; grandson, Mathew Palmer; stepgrandchildren, Selena and Chris Cline, Eric Harris and Jason and Amy Harris; stepgreat-grandchildren, Maddie Cline, Austin Cline, Justin Harris, Sydney Harris, Jackson Harris and Lindsey Harris; several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Winston Duane Palmer will be Thursday at 3 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Corbin and the Rev. Mike Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in United Memorial Gardens with Matthew Palmer, Eric Harris, Jason Harris, Chris Cline, Austin Cline and Mike Brewer serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
