Patrick Sean "Pat" O'Donoghue, 51, passed away suddenly on April 8, 2017, in Dalton. He was born on Feb. 2, 1966, in Atlanta, and spent most of his youth in Morristown, Tenn. He graduated from Morristown Hamblen High School East in 1984 and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Conor and Frances O'Donoghue.
He is survived by sisters, Karen O'Donoghue of King George, Va., and Heather Kennedy of Mills River, N.C., as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Conor and Susan O'Donoghue of Morristown, Tenn. Nieces and nephew include Meghan and Shannon O'Donoghue and Conor, Katie and Erin Kennedy.
In addition to being a loving brother, caring uncle and loyal friend, he was the founder and president of North Georgia Scale Service following many years of work at Shamrock Scale Co. He enjoyed card games with family, challenging his brother and cousins at golf, and puttering around his farm.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Morristown, Tenn., followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
