Mrs. Margie Massingill, 70, of Dalton, departed this life on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1946, in Dalton, a daughter to the late Hugh and Artie Mae Quarles Parker. Margie loved to collect birdhouses and trinkets and loved her dogs. She was a member of Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of almost 51 years (this Saturday is their anniversary), Clay Massingill, of the residence; daughters, Pamela Renea Massingill and Regenea Lee Massingill, both of Dalton; a sister, Shirley Parker Moss of Dalton.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Margie Massingill are Monday at 3 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Guffey and Brother George Cross officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m.
