Mrs. Leonor Atayde, 85, of Dalton, departed this life Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at the Erlanger Medical Center. She was born July 1, 1932, in Durango, Mexico, a daughter of the late Emilio Atayde and Emilia Moreno. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Santillano; brother, Luis Atayde; and sisters, Maria De Jesus Atayde and Maria Bernabe Atayde.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eligio and Maria Santillano of Ringgold; daughters and sons-in-law, Emilia and Edmundo Esquivel, Elvia and Ricardo Paez of Dalton and Rosa Santillano of Chatsworth; sixteen grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Leonor Atayde will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Joel Chamberlain officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
