Kendell Stanley, 73, of Dalton, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017. He was born on Aug. 14, 1944. Kendell loved fishing. He loved music; he played the guitar, sang and played the harmonica in his band. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry Stanley and Pauline Barnes Stanley; brothers, Lester Stanley and Boyd Stanley; and a sister, Martha Whitmire.
He is survived by his sons, Joe Keith Stanley of Rock Ledge, Fla., Rodney Lee Stanley (Shawn) of Ringgold and Gary Allen Stanley (Kris) of Rocky Face; daughters, Sheila Smith of Cleveland, Tenn., Sherry Montgomery (Ryan) of Cleveland, Tenn., and Stacy Womac (Jason) of Cohutta; brothers, Jack Stanley (Judy) of Dalton and Grady Stanley (Grace) of Dalton; sisters, Eva Young (Donald) of Chatsworth and Teresa Stanley of Rome; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Kendell Stanley will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Brother Donald Young officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday. Eric Smith, Hunter Stanley, Tyler Stanley, Austin Rymer, Cameron Womac, Caleb Womac and Ryan Womac will be serving as pallbearers.
