Mr. Brett Ray Couch, 26, of Rocky Face, departed this life Sunday morning, Sept. 17, 2017, in Dalton from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Brett was born Oct. 24, 1990, in Dalton. Brett was a 2008 graduate of Seminole County High School in Sanford, Fla., and attended Seminole Community College. He was preceded in death by his granddad, Gene Rhudy.
Brett loved music, guitars, fishing, farming, roping, horses, cattle auctions, horse auctions, the ocean, tractors, country music and anything outdoors. He loved and cared for any kind of animal.
Brett loved working for and helping Edward and Debbie Duckworth on their farm and would do anything needed. Brett was a true cowboy.
Brett is survived by his mother, Anne Poarch of Summerville; father, Mark Couch of Dalton; stepmother, Jennifer Couch of Salkum, Wash.; sister, Rendi Couch of Chehalis, Wash.; brothers, Jayden Poarch of Rocky Face, Nicholas Couch of U.S. Army in Vader, Wash., and Stryder Couch of Chehalis, Wash.; niece, Raven Couch; grandparents, Shirley Rhudy of Rocky Face, Ray and Kathy Poarch of Ringgold, Vivian White of Dalton, Clinton and Wendy Bell of Fairhaven, Wash., and Junior and Nancy Poe of Dalton; special uncle, Jason Bagwell of Cumming; special aunt, Chrissie Poarch of Rocky Face; special friends, Edward and Debbie Duckworth and Sam and Kristin Duckworth; special cousin, Patrick Roark, all of Ringgold; other aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Brett R. Couch will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Tac Coley officiating. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 4 p.m. until the service hour Sunday.
