William "Bill" Fowler, 84, of Ringgold, passed away on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017.
A lifelong resident of the Ringgold and Dalton areas, he was a former employee of Jordan Tank Lines where he worked for 33 years, Duvall Trucking where he worked for five years and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Evelyn Dale Fowler; parents, Clarence and Delaney Lowery Fowler; stepson, Lesley McClure; one great-grandson and several siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Cummings Fowler of Ringgold; two stepchildren, Debbie McClure of Fort Oglethorpe and Terry Lee McClure of Ringgold; six children, Brenda (Randy) Brooks of Dalton, Billy (Cindy) Fowler of Rocky Face, Jerry (Sandra) Fowler of Dalton, Gregory Fowler of Dalton, Roger (Sheila) Fowler of Chatsworth and Rhonda (James) Harrison of Dalton; two sisters, Lucille (Paul) Marshall of Chatsworth, Patricia (Roger) Harris of Dalton; brother, Clyde (Jerry) Fowler of Chatsworth; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services are Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe McIntyre and the Rev. Billy Joe Cochran officiating.
Interment will be at United Memorial Gardens in Dalton.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.at the funeral home.
