Stephen D. Stinson Sr., 61, of Dalton, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Siskin Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Christine Stinson, and father-in-law, Ernest Swinney.
He was a member of Mt. Rachel Baptist Church and was employed by Georgia Power Company for 35 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Swinney Stinson of residence; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and David Hasty of Dalton; four sons and daughter-in-law, Chad Hall of Dalton, Bryan Tolbert of Rome, Stephen and Miranda Stinson of Lawrenceville and William Stinson of Atlanta; sisters, Angie Stinson and Pam Stinson, both of Rome; brother and sister-in-law, David and Jan Stinson of Centre, Ala.; mother-in-law, Mildred Swinney Coleman; five grandchildren, Gabi, Hudson, Aspen, Riley and Caleb; special niece, Kellie; and several other nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin McGlamery officiating.
Burial will be in the United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4 until 9 p.m.
