I only know of this fine gentleman from knowing his friend and mentor, Pastor Ron McKinney. I am sure thousands of souls were uplifted by his ministry. May grace and peace endure forever for the family.

This is such sad news. I went to church and high school with Larry. We lost touch as adults, but I always knew him and his family to be the most wonderful people. My mother passed last year as well and thought the world of the Marlin family, often speaking of them after I left Maryland and moved to Georgia too. She also told me of rhe important work Larry was doing. I guess we'll never know why God takes some of the best people too early. Lane and Mr. Marlin I am so deeply sorry for your great loss.

I met Larry for the first time during Freshman Orientation at Carson-Newman College. He and a few others all met during that week. We formed a soul connection that lasted through our 4 years of college. Our group would visit on weekends at each others home. I recall visiting Larry's home in Maryland during Thanksgiving break. He showed us around Washington DC and we went to see the Liberty Bell in PA. I began cutting hair as a courtesy to Larry as funds were tight during college. I had no experience but it seemed to work. I still cut hair non-professionally to this day. We had fellowship together in the local church. Larry always demonstrated the love of God to all he met. Larry had a gre...at sense of humor. His great looks drew many women seeking after him. Angela was one of those women. Of course, Larry had a special connection with Angela and they ended up sharing their lives with each other. After college, Larry visited me at Southwestern Baptist Seminary with our classmate Doug Brown. My finances were really tight. After they left, I found an envelope with a considerable amount of cash that they left to help me out financially. I next saw Larry for our 10 year C-N Class Reunion. That is the last time I physically saw him. However, I know that we have a soul connection. I was deeply saddened to learn of Larry's illness and now his passing. Larry will always hold a dear place in my heart. Sending love and light to Larry and to all who had the opportunity to share his journey. It is my honor to call Larry my friend. That friendship continued throughout the years.Read more
