Dr. Khan was born in Karachi, Pakistan on August 4, 1955. He went on to graduate from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. In 2014, he was diagnosed with colon cancer that had metastasized to the liver extensively. Though physically taking the beating of constant chemotherapy, he persisted with a clear mind and an unequivocal desire to care for his patients. 3 1/2 of treatments took a toll on his body, he was no longer able to tolerate treatment. Eventually the burden of the disease became too much for his body and he passed away at Hamilton Medical Center on Thursday, October 19. During his illness, his wife was his caregiver 24/7 and was there until the end. Dr. Khan was lucky and always grateful for his supportive friends and colleagues. He is survived by his wife, Tahereh Bolbolian, his son, Farid Khan and his daughter, Amber Khan.
