Margie Bridges Rollins, 76, of Dalton, died peacefully in her sleep at Quinton Memorial Healthcare in Dalton on Saturday morning, July 29, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Bridges Sr. and Lillie Bell Gaddis; a brother, Robert Lee Bridges III; sister, Ellen "Snooks" Bridges; and former husbands and fathers of her children, Conley "Gene" Rollins and Dwayne Southers.
Margie was born April 4, 1941, in Whitfield County and grew up in the Rocky Face community. She was a proud mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, history buff, storyteller and had a lifelong love affair with the color pink.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jeff Tallent of Varnell and Pat and Tony Collins of Rocky Face; sons and a daughter-in-law, Conley "Chuck" and Emily Rollins of Chatsworth, Robert Rollins of Dalton and Stacey Souther of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Dana Carr of Crandall; sister, Teresa Carver-Rios of Dalton; grandchildren, Candi Kerns, Josh Collins, Brad Tallent, Beth Douhne, Loni Loya, Tyson Rollins, Tiffany Layman, Blake Rollins and Jessi Jones; several great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews, friends and relatives; and her beloved Chihuahua and constant companion, Granny.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and aides who have cared for her throughout her illness. A special thanks to staff and caregivers at Quinton Memorial Healthcare who took such good care of Margie.
A private burial and family service will be held at Rocky Face Cemetery in Rocky Face.
