James 'Jim' Henderson


Mr. James Larry "Jim" Henderson , 77, of Rocky Face, died in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Hamilton Medical Center, in Dalton, Georgia.
Mr. Henderson was born on the 9th of June, 1942, in Ogden, Utah, a son of James Sims and Eva Joy (Morrell) Henderson.
He was married to Lynn Frances Miller on May the 1st, 1965, in San Francisco, California.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, he was a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Henderson resided in Ogden, Utah for many years. After retiring from Smith Optical, in 2014, he moved back east to be near family.
Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Dean Downs, brothers Nicholas Aardema & Greg Clark, sisters Helen Joy Pewtress & Judy Henderson, his eldest son Private James Aaron 'Jimmy' Henderson, US Army, and eldest grandson Mickey Allen Kettinger.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ms. Lynn (Miller) Cordell, daughter Kristin Burris, son and daughter-in-law Wade and Marwa Henderson, grandchildren Brody Henderson, Kylynn Henderson, and Nick Henderson, siblings Arlin Henderson, of Roy, UT, Thea & Jim Locke, of Sonoita, CA, and Melody & Scott Clark, of Ogden, UT, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Dalton Oyster and the Poker Gang for their continuous support in watching out for Jim, allowing him countless hours of enjoyment.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home.
Burial will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on July 11, 2019 at 12:30 p.m.
Funeral arrangements are by Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Rocky Face Chapel.
