Harrison "H.B." Barney Steinbeck

Harrison H.B. Barney Steinbeck Mr. Harrison "H.B" Barney Steinbeck, age 77, of Chatsworth, GA; a Marine, "Semper Fi," a Hunter, deer was his game of choice, a fisherman, the big one was always on the hook, an ambassador for Son of Grants Sporting Goods, departed this life, Friday February 8, 2019 at her Erlanger Medical Center with his family at his side.

H.B. was born March 13, 1942 in West Helena, Arkansas, the son of the late Harrison Mosby Steinbeck and Opal McDonald. He was preceded in death by his grand-daughter, Shauntè Disney, son-in-law, Kevin Disney. H.B. proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam conflict. H.B. worked at Galaxy Carpet Mills and Mohawk Industries in maintenance and was a hyster mechanic. After his retirement you could find H.B. at Sons of Grant Sporting Goods. He loved to hunt, fish and anything that had to do with the outdoors, so being at Grants gave him the opportunity to talk about the things he enjoyed.

H.B. is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Steinbeck of Chatsworth, GA, sons, Toby Steinbeck of Tunnel Hill, GA, Scott Steinbeck of Chatsworth, GA, Tracy Disney of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Tyler Steinbeck, Alex Disney and his wife Michaela of Dalton, GA; great- grandchildren, Abrey Steinbeck, Bralie Steinbeck and Addy Steinbeck, brother, Mark Ellis of Houston, TX, sister, Geneva Wheatley also of Houston, TX, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Service to celebrate the life of H.B. will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Bruce Headrick officiating. He will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery with American Legion Post 112 performing military honors. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Steinbeck, Alex Disney, Ric Sharp, Scott Sosebee, Kevin Grant and Walter Lowe.

The family will receive friends, Monday February 11, 2019 at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
