Georgia's Story

Mrs. Georgia Tarver Dwight Washington Miller, 103, of Dalton, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at her residence. She was retired from Hamilton Medical Center after 20 years of service, was a lifelong member of Hopewell Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Miller; parents, Dan and Mamie Tibbs Dwight; two sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her three loving children, Helen Harris, Betty (Tommy) Macon and James R. (Pauline) Washington Sr., of Dalton; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Vivian McMichael; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, on Airport Road in Dalton, with Elder Windell Smith and other ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
