Gene Fetzer, 85, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Fetzer; parents, Ollie and Zula Mae Fetzer; sisters, Patricia McKissick and Thelma Bazzell; brother, Larry Fetzer; sisters-in-law, Frances Fetzer and Shirley Fetzer; and brothers-in-law, Clyde Smith, Wallace Cooper and Bob Dixon.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mike Arthur of Cohutta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joy Diane and Gerald Rowland of Dalton, and Frances and J.V. Williams of Cohutta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank Bentley Fetzer Sr. of Dalton, Ronald and Irana Fetzer of Cohutta, Charles and Judy Fetzer of Cohutta, and Fielding and Judy Fetzer of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Debbie Fetzer, Eva Dixon and Opal Cooper, all of Dalton, and Lynn Cooper of Varnell; beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Dalton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Willingham officiating.
The family will receive friends at Dalton First United Methodist Church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the service time at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
