Mrs. Essie Westmoreland Mantooth, 97, of Chatsworth, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Chatsworth Health Care Center.
Mrs. Mantooth was a member of the Spring Place Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Mantooth; parents, Thomas and Mary Jennings Westmoreland; sisters, Sara Lou Kilgore, Willie Jo Thompson and Mary Nell "Madie" Roberts; brother, Henry James Westmoreland; nieces, Henrietta McDaniel and Loretta Hardy; nephews, Doug Westmoreland and Glenn Roberts.
Survivors include nieces, Thelma Jones of Chatsworth, Barbara O'Bryant of Dalton and Lindy Roy of Birmingham, Ala.; nephews, Lamar Kilgore of Chatsworth and Tommy Westmoreland of Foley, Ala.; a host of other relatives and many, many friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mantooth are Saturday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Willis officiating. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, 922 E. Morris St., Dalton, GA 30721 or to the Murray County Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 44, Chatsworth, GA 30705.
The family would like to thank Morningside Assisted Living and a special thanks to Chatsworth Health Care Center for their loving and compassionate care.
